Entries for 2010 are being accepted during January and February 2010. The
theme for this year is ‘Occupations’.
The Lions Club of Knaresborough is pleased to confirm that Saturday 12th June
2010 will see the running of the 45th Great Knaresborough Bed Race. Further
announcements leading up to this event will be made so watch this space for
more details.
Last year’s event was the biggest ever: 86 teams took part and the
crowds were huge. This year the Bed Race is being opened to 90 teams, the
maximum that can be accommodated and a larger figure than in previous years
due to the move to the Knaresborough Castle Grounds for the start of the
parade.

Over recent years the Great Knaresborough Bed Race has featured on Channel
5 - Rory and Paddy's great British Adventure featuring Rory McGrath, Blue
Peter (twice), Transworld Sport, CNN and was filmed by a Korean TV team
documenting crazy events throughout the world. It has been featured in
media in Australia,
North America, Asia and Europe and has
spawned several similar races in other countries. It has become a permanent
fixture in the world calendar of fun events held for charity.
