Knaresborough Lions are putting out a call for people to help with various roles for the Great Knaresborough Bed Race in 2012. Those who wish to join one of the six sub groups are invited to register their interests by email to bedrace.2012@btinternet.com
Sub groups are Safety, Publicity and Sponsorship, Programmes and Facebook, Castle Top arrangements and Parade, Conyngham Fields arrangements, and Teams
The Race will be run on Saturday 9th June 2012 and we welcome those who want to volunteer to help out on the day. There are a variety of roles ranging from with marshalling, programme selling, catering and venue clear up that are required to be carried out. If you are prepared to get more involved, we would welcome assistance in preparing the route the day before, and to carry out other tasks in the build-up to the event.
The Great Knaresborough Bed Race is one of the largest and longest-running community events in the North of England. It is all held for charity and community causes, raising up to £100,000 in 2011. This is dervied from entry fees, commercial support, programme sales, street collections, community stalls and through money raised by teams themselves for their own good causes.
