About Us

Who are we ?
We are a small informal club with members having a varied range of photographic interests.

What do we do ?
During the winter months we arrange for speakers to come and give us talks on a wide range of topics, so hopefully there will be something to interest everyone. During the summer we go out to various locations usually within a few miles of Knaresborough, photographing landscapes, and the local flora and fauna. This gives a good opportunity to pick up tips from our more experienced members.

Where do we meet ?
Church Hall Wednesdays 7:45pm

Church Hall,
Park Grove, Knaresborough.

During the indoors season (September through to April) meetings are held every Wednesday at 7:45pm at the Church Hall
See our Events programme for any exceptions.
During the outdoors season (May through to August) we will be meeting at various locations around Knaresborough.

Competitions:
We have a number of competitions through out the winter season involving projected images and prints. All members are encouraged to take part.  Listening to the judge's comments, is one of the best ways of improving your own photography. They tell you what they liked about your picture and what to look for next time to improve it further. Being able to see other people's work and talk to them about how they tackled the subject is one of the most interesting aspects of belonging to a camera club.

Digital:
We have acquired a digital projector with help of an "Awards For All" Lottery grant. So in addition to prints, all our competitions will now have a digital projection section. This allows our digital workers, who don't print, to still take part.
Most of us at the club are fairly new to digital, so this will be learning period for us all. The joys of Photoshop are just one of the topics we will be demonstrating on our club member evenings.

Thinking of joining us ?
We welcome any new members of any standard to further their interest in photography. If unsure, why not come to one of our meetings and see what's going on.
