‘Home and Away’ exhibition The Knaresborough-based Henshaws Arts and Crafts Centre is inviting members of the public to its latest exhibition which starts on 5th April and runs until 1st June. Entitled ‘Home and Away’, the exhibition showcases woodcut prints and other multi sensory works by Bradford artists Ruth Fettis and Jo Cook. Ruth and Jo have been friends for many years and have a long history of holding exhibitions together, including shows at South Square Gallery, Bradford and Keighley Arts Factory. Recently, Ruth’s work has also been shown in Santiago, Chile. The pair also often collaborate together making art, using a variety of techniques in their work, including lino printing, mono print and carbarundum. Jo Cook explained what inspired the exhibition’s theme of ‘Home and Away’: “It’s about journeys away from home and what happens at home. Ruth is including some of her work from her travels in Chile. During this time, we wrote to each other every day. The work is essentially about her being there and me being here, at home.” The exhibition will take place in the Centre’s Café Gallery and the artists’ work will be on sale. Opening times are Monday to Friday 9-4 and weekends 10-4. Admission is free and parking is available on site. NOTE: The Gallery will be closed 7-8 April and 21-22 May. Henshaws Arts and Craft Centre, 50 Bond End, Knaresborough, HG5 9AL 01423 541558. |
