| And it came to pass that the Angel Gabriel
came to the Virgin Mary and said to her "Thou shalt conceive
and bring forth a son and shall call his name Jesus" And when
everyone came to Bethlehem to be taxed, including Joseph with his
wife Mary, the Child was born and Mary wrapped him in swaddling
clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for
them in the inn.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in
the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And the
angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord
shone around them; and they were sore afraid. And the angel
said unto them "Fear not: for behold, I bring you good
tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto
you is born this day, in the city of David, a Saviour, which
is Christ the Lord." |
