| Sawley and Bishop Thornton | 1770-1840s | Patricia (Boddy) Tharp Patricia (Boddy) Tharp tharpkd@aol.com Seeking parentage of Elizabeth Dawson who was born c. 1772. From the MB&A, I know that in 1794 Elizabeth was living at Sawley Hall where she was probably employed. She married John Boddy, miller, of nearby Raventofts Mill and Farm in Bishop Thornton and they had several children; the last three were baptized at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic chapel at Bishop Thornton after it was built in 1809. Another Dawson baptism at St. Joseph's was John Dawson, baptized in 1814, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Gerard) Dawson. Was Thomas Dawson a brother of Elizabeth (Dawson) Boddy? Could this be the same John Dawson who lived in Bevereley in 1857? |

| DESORMEAUX | Knaresborough | any | Rhoda Hall alanv.hall@ntlworld.com I have found a reference of a wedding entry of Emma Desormeaux during the Dec Qtr of 1848 somewhere in the Knaresborough sub-registration area. To whom at this point I do not know and would like to have any information which may be available of her descendents.or her married name, occupation etc. Emma's parents were a Thomas and Charlotte Clara Desormeaux and she would have been baptised on the 2.8.1826 at St. George- in -the-East, London.
