Local Lives

The lives of local people as they remember their experiences of growing up, working and living in the town or surrounding villages.

In each case the subject is interviewed and tape-recorded and has full approval and control over what appears on these pages.

Please bear in mind that these are personal reminiscences and include matters of opinion and remembrance. None of the accounts are checked for factual accuracy.

Bracketed italics are my explanatory comments.

Unfortunately instances of information and images being removed from websites and reproduced without permission is increasing. I have therefore reluctantly had to protect the pages in this section as they contain information and images provided by the interviewees for use on Knaresborough Online and represent a great investment of time and effort. This means that Find facilities on browsers may not operate, for which I apologise.
