Knaresborough held a Medieval Event on Saturday 3rd April 2010 to celebrate the first ever Royal Maundy.
The event included a re-enactment of the First Royal Maundy at Knaresborough Castle by King John and
the distribution of the "Knaresborough Maundy" a specially designed and minted silver coin to thirteen
deserving Knaresborough residents.

The grand opening ceremony took place at 11am and exciting demonstrations, medieval games
and entertainments took place throughout the day.

Our medieval event on Sat 3rd April 2010 had demonstrations of falconry provided by York Falconry

It also had demonstrations of wood turning using a pole lathe by Richard Law
