THE next meeting of the Knaresborough Town Council Maundy Celebration Working Group takes place at Knaresborough House on Monday.
On the agenda will be more ideas for the celebrations next year to mark the 800-year anniversary of King John giving the first Royal Maundy at Knaresborough Castle in 1210.

These are likely to centre on a key event held in the grounds of Knaresborough Castle on Easter Saturday, April 3 to include medieval activities and the involvement of local schools.

Fundraising events will be taking place later in the year and early in 2010 to help with costs for the event.

If you would like any more information about the Maundy Celebrations or wish to be involved, contact Committee Secretary, Coun Christine Willoughby on 01423 866987.

The meeting starts at 7.30pm.
