Ripon, Harrogate & District Family History Group |
|
The Ripon, Harrogate and District Family History Group was founded in 1987 as part of the Ripon Historical Society and caters for people interested in their family history within the Rural Deaneries of Ripon and Harrogate and part of Wensley and for those living locally whose ancestry is elsewhere. The group publishes a quarterly journal in conjunction with the Historical Society and holds regular meetings at both Ripon and Harrogate where members and visitors are made welcome. These are at Ripon Library, The Arcade, Market Place, Ripon on the 4th Tuesday of February, April, June, September, October and in Harrogate at the St. Paul's Church Hall, Belford Road off Victoria Avenue (directly opposite the library) on the 3rd Tuesday of January, March, May, September and November. A lending library of journals issued by other Family History Societies and a selection of reference books are available at Family History meetings; a wide range of economically priced books and guides on research and records is also available for purchase. For full details and membership information please see the main Ripon, Harrogate & District Family History Group or email Gerald Lawson at gdl@yorksgen.org.uk For more Yorkshire Genealogical information and links go to www.yorksgen.org.uk and Knaresborough Online Family History at www.knaresborough.co.uk/history/family | |
